This trip was supposed to be with friends, but schedules didn’t line up because adulting 😅.
Until almost the day before, it was all push and pull for Allen and me. In the end, we decided to make the most of it—food trip, exploring, and just spending time together. Plus, it was a few days after our monthsary on the 18th, so parang vacation slash celebration hehe.
My first and last time in Taiwan was back in 2012 for the Coldplay concert. Mateo was less than a month old! 🫣 Ending of that trip: I got sick and couldn’t stand up, so instead of exploring, we just stayed in the hotel. Allen, on the other hand, had been to Taiwan several times—but always for work.
Day 1
Landed on Eva Air, checked in at Oani Hotel in Ximending, dropped our bags, and went straight to Raohe Night Market and the beautiful temple right beside it. Amazing michelin street food then back to the hotel to rest. Booked via Klook the airport express tickets and the easy card for trains and buses.
Day 2
Cherry blossom hunting! First stop: Sunshine Sports Park—a local park. And haha, there was just one small cherry blossom tree left 😅 Tapos na pala hahaha.
The park gave us a glimpse of local life though: skating rink, kids’ playground, outdoor tennis courts, running track, and even a kindergarten with kids blowing bubbles!
Next, we took a bus to Chang Kai-shek Memorial to meet up with our friends, Cesca and Enzo. May Cherry blossoms din, mga tatlong puno 😅. Pwede na, better than nothing!
Snacks at Xin Fu Tang milk tea and Xia Long Bao—no line at CKS Memorial, loved the fortune Allen and I got.
Then Super late lunch at Mala Hotpot—so good, busog!
Afterwards, neck and shoulder massage with Enzo and Cesca near the train station. Walked around City Hall station area, doon ang parang BGC visited Taipei 101, then ended the night at Ningxia Night Market. Honestly, I liked Raohe Market more the night before.
18,000+ steps for Day 2 😱
Day 3
Up early for a full-day trip outside Taipei. Booked via Klook: Shifen waterfall, Shifen sky lanterns, and Jiufen Old Town. Parang Baguio but overlooking the body of water. Dimsum lunch there, then milk tea again at Xin Fu Tang.
Note: maybe not for seniors na hirap na maglakad, not for kids na nakastroller pa. Too many lakad and stairs and may hanging bridge pa hehe.
Dinner at Wan Nian Foodcourt Ximending—for pork chops and chicken. After that, foot massage—perfect way to end a long day. Hehe.
Daming lakad wew! Also, pambawi sa mga kinain hehe.
Day 4
Checked out from hotel, left luggage, and went out for brunch at Wan Nian basement again—beef noodle soup this time. Quick Carrefour run for pasalubong. Pasalubong and Coffee stop at FM Station Cafe and Starbucks. around 4 PM, we were on the Airport Express from Taipei Main Station. Early sa airport for more Taiwan treats.

Babalik pa ba? Yass! Didn’t get to try the Crispy Milk Donut yet—the line was insane 😅. Definitely next time, and maybe with the kids. Para may theme park and zoo naman.
PS. Mabilisang blog habang fresh pa. Photos to follow 🙂
