9.9.9 if you add up the digits (2+0+2+5 = 9). For most people it was just another Tuesday, but for me, it turned into one of those days that made me stop and reminisce. My feed was filled with videos about 9.9.9 — letting go of the old and welcoming the new — and out of nowhere, I remembered my college thesis: On the Principles of Quantum Cryptography.
Honestly, I couldn’t remember anything about it — not a single formula, postulate, theorem, or anything from it anymore. Title nalang ang naalala ko and my thesis partner, Steph. Natawa din ako that I suddenly thought about it on a date like yesterday.
Back then, the world was caught up in Dan Brown’s The Da Vinci Code. The book came out in 2003—hidden symbols, secret puzzles, and coded messages. The movie came out in 2006. Around 2004-2005, nasubmit ko na thesis ko and nagdefend kami 😊

The day itself wasn’t exactly extraordinary. We spent hours in the hospital yesterday for tests. my kids were absent from school because they had diarrhea and amoebiasis. Not exactly the kind of special day I’d imagine when thinking of 9.9.9.
When we got home from the hospital, I had to teach Marko for his Christian Living and Math term exams. Natawa lang ako because habang nagtuturo kagabi, doon ko naalala itong thesis ko at yung 9.9 cart ko na hindi ko pa nacheck out HAHAHA.
Fast forward to today, codes mean something totally different: discount codes! Shopee, Lazada, etc turned 9.9 into a super shopping day. While my Instagram feed was filled with reels on 9.9.9, the other side of the internet ay nagchecheck out ng carts. I checked out laundry detergent, kids’ body wash, etc, and according to the checkout page, I saved ₱1,900. hehehe.

Maybe 9.9.9 for me was God’s quiet way of saying: here’s a reminder of where you’ve been, here’s where you are now, and here’s a chance to start healthy and fresh. pinilit iconnect hehe
